Welcome to Guest Blogger, Stayce DeWid

Hi, I’m Stayce DeWid, I’m so excited to be blogging today for Cruise and Crop.

This album is a mixed media album done with several different mediums on several different media surfaces.  I’m just beginning to get into the grungy goodness of mixed media. Not sure I’m very good at it yet but I’m trying. Lol

I do however LOVE to layer items and little pieces and trinkets etc....

Lots of glue, lots of different mediums and Tons of fun. If you get a chance you should try it.

We also have a fabulous cruise coming up with Cruise and Crop. Would love to see some of you there.  Check out all the details at:   http://www.cruiseandcrop.com/ArtAdv2013.htm

Thanks for looking

Quick and easy 4th necklace

Our town's big 4th of July fireworks celebration takes place on the 3rd. So as I was getting ready this morning I made sure to put on my Red, White and Blue...except I didn't have a very cute outfit. I found my old strand of red pearls hiding in the back of my jewelry drawer. Even with the red pearls on top of my white shirt I still didn't look very festive. This looked the the perfect opportunity to craft!!

The outcome was pretty simple. I'm sure it could have been a bit more embellished (and maybe blinged)...but not bad for my 30 minute time slot. The three flowers are independent of each other. In fact, the red flower is a pin I had made last week. The little blue Yo-yos I whipped up today. Each flower is sewed on with thread {which could be removed later}. I did tack the three together with one stitch so that they didn't spin around.

I hope this inspired you to create something patriotic.

House Warming Party

On Saturday I had some of my dear friends and family over for a classic house warming party.  I wanted to share with you a few cute gifts that I got.  First - here is my invite.  I had lots of fun with my Copics.  Not my best coloring job - but not too bad for a beginner.

These stamps are from Close to My Heart.  Click here for the specific stamp set. (Consultant Sheila Wilson)

This first gift is from Gail (my sweet momma)...and my dad.  She really went the extra mile to present the gift in a creative and thoughtful way.  And check out this card.  The Lattice work was created on her Pazzles Cutter. (Join us on Pazzles 1st Cruise & Crop cruise...CLICK HERE)

The curtains were made by layering ribbon.

A piece of acrylic was attached between the window lattice work and the curtain to make it look like a real window.

I plan to leave this cute sign on the basket.  Now to decide where to put it and what should fill it.  Any ideas?

This second gift was from Jim & Jane.  They were my neighbors before I moved.  Jane has been with us on a couple of Cruise & Crop cruises and is quite possibly our most supportive, unpaid "sales women".

Check out this clever idea...presented in a cute basket.
