Paper Pack Giveaway - Merry Christmas

We want to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

One of my favorite Christmas traditions has been driving around to see Christmas lights.  In recent years we have enjoyed visiting the Homosassa Wildlife Park during their Celebration of Lights.  They cover the park with Christmas lights and festive decorations.  They really do a fantastic job.  They even have Spectacular synchronized light and sound display.  I have loved doing this for years and now I get to watch my kids' eyes light up when they see the lights.

We are feeling generous this Christmas Season...

  1. One of my favorite Christmas memories is riding around in the car in our pajamas while we looked at Christmas lights as a family. It was always so much fun! We usually had hot chocolate afterwards too!

  2. My best Christmas memories are with my late son. Most evenings on our way home, I would drive the "long" way home so that we could look in awe at a beautifully lit neighborhood close to Mom's home and Rhema Bible Church. Nicholas didn't live to see his 6th Christmas but I won't ever forget how he would smile and squeal each year. He always liked to pick out gifts for everyone and especially those that might not have a gift otherwise. He was an incredible kid. This year I am trying to keep his memory alive by helping several needy families. Nicholas would be so happy. Merry Christmas everyone!! I hope your holidays are blessed beyond measure!!

  3. One of my favorite memories of Christmas is the tradition of having a live tree. My mother was from Canada and felt that it wasn't Christmas without a real tree. We would buy the tree from a tree lot on the 1st Saturday of December and let it sit in a bucket of water on the porch. The week-end before Christmas was the day my dad would cut off part of the tree trunk and place it in the stand. It would come in to be trimmed on Sunday afternoon with bubble lights and many treasured ornaments. New Year's Day would find us taking the tree down and packing up all the Christmas decorations.

Nothing smells better than a live tree and it would never have been flocked with the fake snow. It would have to be real to be at our house.

  4. My favorite Christmas memory is of driving downtown to 34th street, where the lights stretch from house to house, roof to roof and neighbors have opened their doors to welcome visitors in to see their holiday decorations. Walking down 34th street with a nice cup of hot chocolate and admiring all the beautiful decor.

  5. My favourite Christmas memories are of "Santa" coming for a last-minute check on us, early Christmas Eve.

The excuses my dad would give for getting out of the house! One year he said he had to go next door to help Mr. Waite fix his bicycle. I didn't suspect a thing despite the fact that the weather made it unsuitable for biking, and Mr. Waite was in his 70s and I'd never seen him on a bike.

When we got the photos back a few weeks later, my mom tells me that one year I pointed at the picture of me and "Santa" and said, "I remember Daddy taking that picture!"

When I got older and was in on the secret, I loved hearing about other kids' reactions when my dad came back from making his rounds.

One of my favorite memories of Christmas going to see specific Holiday displays near house and then gathering with the entire family (including aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents) at our house and have a wonderful Christmas Eve (Noche Buena) dinner and celebration. Our house decorated and then going Christmas Day to mass. Of course opening all the gifts and getting my doll and Barbie RV.

    Merry Christmas

  7. My favorite memory of Christmas is when we had our tree all decorated just so our cat would go under and decide that it would be fun to climb. So as she was making her way up, it and the stand full of water would tip over. So we would yell and set the tree back up get it all decorated again and after a while we'd hear the tree, decorations and water tip over again. This went on for days until one year we bought a fake tree and now we can enjoy the decorations without water all over the place!
